Solar Railway signaling system


Description


The Railway Signaling system consists of an SPV Module, a Battery, a Signaling PCB to energize front & back bulb of the signal and provide indication in the Signal room.
A Charge control unit protects the battery from over charge and under voltage. Also, it automatically turns on the lamps in night and shuts them off during the day.

Applications

The system is designed for use by the Railways. The system provides reliable and economical power for energizing the signal motor and lamps at isolated railway signals that are far from grid power.

Solar Powered microwave repeater system


Introduction


Power System reliability is critical for most communication applications and availability must be near 100%. Most systems are in remote locations with limited access and often operate in extreme weather conditions most part of the year. For these reasons, PV Systems are increasingly being used to supply power for telecommunications applications. One such application is SPV Power Pack for Microwave Repeater Stations.

System Description

Solar Photovoltaic Power Pack System has been designed to power Microwave Repeater Stations continuously for 24 Hrs. The PV Modules charge the battery bank through an electronic charge Controller. The Charge Controller controls the charging as well as indicates the battery status. The power generated is thus used for powering the M/W Station.

The system has following features:

  • It automatically charges the battery during sun shine hours and simultaneously supplies power to the load. Battery supplies power to the load automatically in the non-sun shine hours.
  • Charge controller indicates the charging . Load gets automatically cut-off if battery voltage goes below a preset level with indication.
  • In case of overcharge the PV Modules gets disconnected from the battery so that further charging gets stopped with indication.
  • Short circuit protection has been provided using fuses, Reverse polarity protection and indication has been provided.

Solar Grid interactive power plant

 

 

Description

Sun rays falling on SPV array are directly converted to DC electricity which is then fed to Power Conditioning Unit which converts DC electric power to AC power . It also makes necessary adjustments in voltage, current an d frequency on O/p side so as to synchronize it with grid. During day time AC power generated coupled with grid is used to run the load. The excess power generated is fed to the grid.
REIL can design ,supply and install SPV Grid interactive power plants as per customer requirements.

Solar Cathodic protection system

Application

The system has got very important application of powering the Cathodic Protection System for pipe-lines.

 

Description

The gaint pipe-lines carrying Gas and Oil etc., are nerves of the Nation. The un-protected pipelines may lead to corrosion resulting in damage / leakage. This hazardous situation is averted with the help of the Cathodic Protection System (CPS).

The power requirement of the CPS is very stringent which requires continuous power, and due to uncertainty of Grid power supply at such remote places, the Solar Photovoltaics is the best answer. The advantages are their being Eco friendly and maintenance free.

The stored Battery power is given to the Central Processing Unit of the Electronics Control Unit (ECU) regulating the Voltage and Current of the CPS. The ECU feeds the power to the Anode ground bed which inturn nullifies the effect of internet flow of corrosion currents and hence cathidically protects the pipe-lines.
